Audio: Wind and Fire
Saying goodbye to film, I made this one minute soundscape with recordings of my old Nikon F3 camera, the pro camera in its day. A tribute. The winding of the film and firing of the shutter are sounds that are now rarely heard. Swept aside by the 'wind and fire' of the digital phenomenon, they've become fragments of an illusionary past. What remains are the pictures. It's just as well.

Hey FauxGnome,
This is great in concept and brilliant in execution. I have to admit I get a shiver when I hear the mechanics of an older SLR. In fact I just had a conversation with a photographer friend of mine about the joy of the sound and feel of it. Nice piece.

Wow I did not realise cameras once made that whirring sound. It sounds a bit like something you'd hear in a horror movie actually..
Thanks for contributing.
