Audio: Dot Matrix printer singing

This is a set of recordings of a close miced dot matrix printer singing its little song. I have always loved how the twitchy movements of the servo motors make poly-rhythms and pitches.

Some clever people have programmed these old electromechanical printers to play very beautiful organised sound. This printer is simply going through a series of ink and page registration checks.

Apologies to the purists I added some digital delay and time modulation to some of these passes, but hopefully there is some sounds of use to you here.

They are part of my larger urban reverb piece, Essence or Residue.
