Hong Kong Agent

Project: Hong Kong Agent

I’m a multimedia artist and member of the Pool community. I’ve uploaded some media files from my Hong Kong Agent project to Pool, and I encourage you to download them and have some fun remixing. It’d be great to add your remix back into Pool.

In 2007 I spent seven months in Hong Kong exploring the city collecting material which has become The Hong Kong Agent – now a cross-media multi-platform project.

Here’s a brief synopsis:

On the first day of 2007 a mysterious agent arrives in Hong Kong on an unspecified mission. Without a map and relying solely on his intuition - The Agent drifts - his encounters with activists, sidewalk shamans, a feng shui master, teenage hopefuls, artists, shopping arcades, ghost buses, psychedelic trains and red bean dumplings become intriguing clues with which to de-code the city and its inhabitants.

I hope that sharing raw materials and episodes of the project for Pool members to experience remix and discuss will make a humble contribution to creative culture.

You could become an agent on a mission to decode any city or any space in the world. Berlin Agent, anyone?

Some of the other versions of this project are a radio program and a gallery installation.
You can read more about the project at my website.
