Project: Our Year of Singing Love Songs
Our Year of Singing Love Songs is a project inviting you to contribute stories about the significance of love songs in your life:
Can songs of love transform the heart, change the brain, soothe the soul and change the body’s rhythm? What songs made you feel high, made you feel low, feel mellow, feel blue, or see red? What songs were you listening to when you first fell in and out of love?
Come on a Journey with a modern minstrel
Linda Neil, ABC Radio National's artist-in-residence, invites you to share her minstrel journey. As a minstrel, Linda will compose, sing, record, or hum a love song every day for 365 days. She will also perform through the streets and in strangers' lounge rooms. All her work will be original and strummed on violin or guitar, played at the keyboard or sung a Capella.
Linda will publish a new love song every few weeks here in Pool. They'll be licensed as Creative Commons so you can share, reuse and remix them, or use them for inspiration for your own story.
What next?
Your work can be original or it can be a remix of Linda's work. It can come in any format you like (text, audio, video or photography) and any genre you like (song, fiction, anecdote, documentary, memoir, current affairs, sound scape, oral history, vox pops).

Science & love songs: together at last
As part of the project, Linda will collaborate with Professor Bill Thompson and his research team at Macquarie University who intend to poke, prod and wire Linda up to a motion capture machine to investigate the effect that singing love songs every day for a year has on Linda’s brain, body, soul, heart, music, life, relationships and experience of the world.
