How do I download full-quality sounds and videos?
last updated: 01.05.08
- Sounds and videos in Pool are streamed in compressed audio and video formats. If you want to download videos or sounds in their uncompressed, full-quality formats, simply click on the ‘Download File’ button below the sound/video player. Depending on your internet browser, you can then specify a file path, and start downloading. Be mindful of the file size! Full-quality videos can be quite large, and may take some time to download.
- If you are using Mozilla Firefox as a browser, left clicking on the download link will take you to a another page where the video will be streamed to you via QuickTime Player. To actually download the file, right click on the download link and choose ‘Save Link As…’, and then specify the download path.
- If you are using Internet Explorer as a browser, left clicking on the download link will start downloading the file into your computer’s temporary internet folder by default, so you may have trouble finding it once the download finishes. The best way to download files with Internet Explorer is to right click on the download link and choose ‘Save Target As…’, and then specify the download path.
- Be aware of what you can and can’t do with Pool content that you download. - Downloading from Pool is free and easy. If you do remix work from the site, it'd be great if you could upload your new work back into Pool.
