Underbelly opened to the Pubilc today. After three days of sometimes strenuous, often hilarious bump in, plants have been hung, rocks strung, couches lifted, rigging shifted and gaggles of artists have waddled in and made home. Wonderfully bizarre places are forming in the foyer and typically unorthodox spaces are being inhabited by shadow puppets and installations about incubation. The bays of carriageworks are housing rappers, sketchers, VJ’s, musicians and a geodesic dome sits proudly waiting for the projections to come.

Members of artist collective PORK turned up to the Tempe Bus and Truck Museum today dressed as a pope, a nun and a preacher for a photo shoot with the Sydney Morning Herald. The group will be using one of the museum heritage buses at the festival for their rumoured to be quite twisted confessional. This article adds to the already growing collection of media cut outs for Underbelly 08 paving the path well for another year of wide media acclaim.

Production is smooth, energy high and artists happy. The day begins again tomorrow no doubt bringing new wonders in tow.
